About Deda's Spirit
Our Heritage
In 1993, in Siberia, my wife and I decided to get married. Our wedding had about a hundred guests, and, following Russian tradition, the celebration was meant to span two days of drinking. However, due to a government prohibition and a vodka shortage-limited to one bottle per person (over 18) per month - vodka was scarce. My father, a civil aviation engineer, borrowed a distiller, obtained a recipe, and produced enough liquor to serve the party. Guests loved it so much that they preferred it over vodka. For the next several years, he refined the recipe to make it even better.
My family and I have lived in the Seattle area since 2000. I’ve since made the liquor at home using vodka, and it’s been a hit with my friends. Encouraged by my sons, I’ve decided to explore producing it for the market. This is how Deda's Spirit was established.
